It was launched in to celebrate the diverse LGBT community that both lives in and visits Puerto Vallarta, and that over the years has positively influenced and formed part of its culture, heritage, and history.

VALLARTA PRIDE

Vallarta Identity festival arises from the initiative to make an Association that promotes and defends equality for the LGBTQ+ community organism much more than an exciting event full of playfulness and entertainment, as it includes cultural and artistic events, film festivals, sports, fashion shows and much more to celebrate the incredible diversity, promoting at all times, to feel proud of our nature.

Accompanied by an impressive Lgbtq+ fest parade that runs through the main streets of the city, showing the creativity of unlike companies and individuals that under an annual theme, beautify their vehicles and dress in the colors of the rainbow. This annual event has placed Puerto Vallarta in the spotlight as one of the main places in the world to commemorate LGBTQ+ Pride.

About this time, a few same-sex attracted personalities and gay businesses decided to have a parade; I forget the significance, but it was full of color and laughter and gaiety. It also signified the emergence of a sense of a local male lover community. The parade included colossal puppets. Gerald, organizer of the first gay boat cruises in Vallarta, borrowed his friend’s Cadillac convertible to carry Miss Vallarta. Paco Ruiz and David Lansley, the owners of the newly opened PACO PACO, helped to organize and created the main parade float – a half-ton truck with banners, rainbow flags, pink triangles and naked torsos.
