Lil Nas X is featured on the cover of Time magazine. In an accompanying interview, the year-old rapper opened up about his ruling to come out as gay earlier this summer.
Though Lil Nas didnt strategy on coming out, the fact that his inescapable hit Old Town Road — featuring Billy Ray Cyrus — was dominating Billboard charts and radio airwaves during Pride Month made him think again. According to the Georgia native, he was initially hesitant about coming out because he was taught from a young age that homosexuality is never going to be OK. Plus, he feared he might lose fans if he shared his truth.

"I'm not angry because I understand how they want that reaction," said the year-old performer. "So I'm just going to joke assist with them."
Lil Nas X - concrete name Montero Lamar Hill - told BBC Breakfast he felt like he was "opening doors for more people".
"I don't want to live my entire life not doing what I wish to do," he added.
He said he hoped his fans would "feel comfortable" but admitted homosexuality was "not really accepted in either the country [or] hip-hop communities".
Lil Nas X has enjoyed huge success with his county-rap crossover hit Old Town Road, which topped the UK singles chart in April.
The song became a viral hit but was controversially removed from Billboard's territory chart because it did "not include enough elements of today's country music".
The rapper took to the stage at Glastonbury at the weekend to accomplish Old Town Thoroughfare with Miley Cyrus and her father Billy Ray.
