During the summer of ‘84, Express Magazine commissioned British photographer Barry Lewis to photograph a holiday story titled, “A Time in the Life of Blackpool” – a charming look at the seaside getaway in Northern England.
“As a photographer, you couldn’t go wrong. Blackpool had everything: trams travelling along the mile-long waterfront, three piers, huge sandy beaches, the Pleasure Beach entertainment park, a tower, thousands of classic B&Bs with accompanying landladies, loads of pubs, cafes, candy floss, and saucy postcards,” Lewis recalls.
“My memories of this time were often the smells, lingering in the sea salt air: a mix of suntan lotion, mint rock, stale beer, and vinegar from the endless fish and chip shops. Everyone was amiable and out to include a good time — all you needed to do was have lots of film, energy and a sense of humour!”

When we were growing up there were few (if any) gay love stories around for us to be exposed to, whether in real life, on TV, or anywhere else in the media.
We would own absolutely loved to have been competent to learn that gay love stories do exist and that gay relationships and gay love affair could be actual, true and loving.

Judge Rinder, who stars in his own actual world courtroom show, didn't seem to take offence at the jokes and laughed throughout the production.
However, some people have tweeted that they found the remarks offensive and homophobic.

Peter Kay did begin his appearance by putting his arm round Judge Rinder and saying: "Let me say hello to this fella, he's fantastic this fella."
But, some thought Assess Rinder might have been lay on the spot and was laughing along for appearances.
