Guerrilla Gay Bar York: Watch what happens when LGBTQ crowd crashes the neighborhood bar
On most weekends, Javier Aguayo is down in Washington, D.C., where he and his husband have an apartment.
But about a month ago, two of his D.C. friends were coming to visit York. He needed to find something to do.
Searching around online, Aguayo landed on a Facebook group called Guerrilla Lgbtq+ Bar York.
It seemed like a novel idea, and with no gay bar in York County the year-old York College politics professor decided to check it out.
"They came along and were really impressed," Aguayo said. "They idea York was some sort of gay haven."

'Changing times' close LGBT bar in York
Altland's Ranch, a longtime hub in York County's gay and queer woman community, has closed after about 50 years of business.
The bar and restaurant at Orchard Road, Jackson Township, first announced the closure on Facebook on Protest The Ranch, as it was informally called, will be lay up for sale at an undetermined price, said Robert Stump, who oversees the bar's ownership.
A decline in turnout coupled with the cost of maintaining the property led to the bar's closure, Stump said.
"You can't sustain a bar if you don't have people coming," Stump said. "There's no money coming back in to pay for things."
